A Duke Energy Foundation representative announced a $25,000 award to the City of Mexico Beach to support water-resiliency planning and urged staff to work with the utility on next steps. Mayor Wolf and council members thanked the representative and invited staff into a brief photo opportunity at the meeting.
The donation will underwrite part of the city's water-resiliency planning efforts, city staff said. "an award from our Duke Energy Foundation to the city of Mexico Beach for $25,000 for, your, water resiliency, plans," the representative said during the meeting. Staff said they would coordinate use of the funds with the public-works team and report back in a future meeting.
