Holland sets 2027 budget timeline and moves forward on online tax payments and election security grant

Chair Huenink announced the first meeting to begin work on the 2027 budget will be Monday, September 21, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. He reminded the board that the public hearing for the 2027 budget and the special elector meeting to adopt the Town tax levy will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2026, with the public hearing beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The board reached consensus to authorize Clerk-Treasurer Janelle Kaiser to submit the financial disbursement agreement necessary to implement an integrated online system for property tax payments; the packet said there is no cost to the town to set up the system in 2026. Kaiser also proposed applying for a Wisconsin Elections Commission election security subgrant (applications due December 1, 2026) to purchase a laptop for the Deputy Clerk-Treasurer.
