Town seeks new vendor for phragmites and knotweed treatments after grant funding lapse

Supervisor Hamilton reported Glacierland Resource Conservation and Development will be unable to administer phragmites and Japanese knotweed treatments this year due to a lack of grant funding. Hamilton said he will contact Stantec, which has performed treatments in previous years, to obtain a quote for local work.
Hamilton also told the board that trees at Amsterdam Cemetery were cleaned up by the Town Public Works Department and Good Fellers Tree Removal Service. The Town Recycling Center will accept retired American flags at no charge, and the July 11 shred event resulted in 4,520 pounds of paper collected and approximately $820 and 15 boxes of food donated to the local food pantry.
The board did not adopt a specific remediation contract at the meeting; staff were asked to pursue potential contractors and report back.
