Superintendent Dr. Jodi McClay briefed the Board on the District of Choice (DOC) program and presented Inter-District Agreements (IDA) as an alternative approach. She outlined advantages and disadvantages of both models and asked trustees to continue evaluating options before making a final decision for the 2026-27 school year.
Dr. McClay told the Board that, whether the district proceeds with DOC or IDA, staff recommend that students currently enrolled under DOC be "grandfathered" to preserve continuity. Trustees did not take a final vote on the model at this meeting and asked staff to return with further analysis in October or November 2025.
