District to extend summer school to all students under ELOP grant; trustees set class-size caps

District staff told trustees that, per the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) grant, summer-school offerings must be extended to all students with unduplicated pupils given priority. Aracely Romo-Flores told the board the ELOP requirement and presented planned class-size caps: 20 students per teacher for grades 1–6 and 10 students per teacher for kindergarten.
Trustee Shawn Moura asked about evaluation of the Galileo curriculum used in summer programming; Trustee Laura Symon noted appreciation for prior-year surveys and requested enrollment numbers for APEX and K–6 summer school, which staff said would be provided in a Friday memo. No vote was required; the item was presented as a program report under Student Learning & Achievement.
