Florence approves $29,367.38 in payments to Maintenance Systems for valve and backflow repairs

Alderman John Banks moved and Alderman Mason Herrin seconded approval of invoice M25017-G-1F for $13,618.95 to cover exploratory digging and installation of a 4" insertion valve; Alderman Brian Grantham moved and Alderman Brent Sistrunk seconded approval of invoice M25017-H-1F for $8,281.27 for backflow-preventer modifications; and Alderman Mason Herrin moved and Alderman Kyle Martin seconded approval of invoice M25017 I 1F for $7,467.16 for excavation and assistance with 6" and 12" insertion valves. All three motions carried by unanimous vote. The combined total approved was $29,367.38.
City minutes state the work was performed "under the extraordinary terms and conditions" of MSI's existing contract. The board did not add conditions or a separate contingency at the time of approval. The payments were recorded on the meeting's consent/claims docket.
The board's approvals follow a work-session agenda item listing MSI invoices and related public-works items. The board did not hold extended discussion during the regular meeting; votes were unanimous.
