The Mayor and Board on Sept. 2 authorized preliminary design work on two sewer projects along Highway 49 corridors. Alderman John Banks moved (seconded by Alderman Brent Sistrunk) to direct City Engineer Tim Parker to begin the design phase for the Hwy. 49 sewer project; the motion carried unanimously.
Separately, on recommendation of Mayor Trey Gunn, the board also authorized Engineering Service to begin the design phase on the Hwy. 49 North sewer project after a motion by Alderman Banks and second by Alderman Sistrunk. Both motions were recorded as carried by unanimous vote and appeared on the meeting agenda as new-business infrastructure items.
City Engineer Tim Parker was directed to proceed with the design work; the minutes do not specify project budgets or timelines, only authorization to begin the design phase.
