The City of Florence Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Sept. 2 unanimously adopted a resolution setting the general fund tax levy for fiscal year Oct. 1, 2025–Sept. 30, 2026 at 31.2 mills. Alderman Brian Grantham moved adoption, seconded by Alderman Kyle Martin; the minutes record roll-call ayes from Aldermen John Banks, Brian Grantham, Mason Herrin, Kyle Martin and Brent Sistrunk.
The adopted resolution specifies that 14.28% of the 31.2‑mill levy will be allocated for debt service. The tax-levy motion followed a public hearing on the proposed budget and tax levies that the mayor opened and closed after no members of the public came forward to comment.
Board members approved the levy as part of a batch of routine business including approval of the claims docket and prior minutes. The resolution text recorded in the minutes states the levy as "31.2 MILLS OF EACH DOLLAR ($1.00) VALUATION." The board did not record any dissenting votes on the levy.
