The Florence mayor and board voted in executive session to accept the resignations of two police officers, Cody Parfait and David Dear, both effective July 9, 2025. The resignations were recommended by Chief Burns and were accepted by recorded votes during the July 15 meeting.
The board also approved hiring Canyon Bilbro as a full‑time patrolman at $21.06 per hour, with a start date of July 17, 2025, contingent on a successful background check and drug and alcohol testing. The motion to hire was made by Alderman John Banks and seconded by Alderman Kyle Martin; the minutes record each alderman voting Aye where recorded. The board returned to regular session at 7:15 p.m. and adjourned.
