Council discussed a draft Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) code during new business. Town Attorney Jeff Slothower reported he and Eli from BHC discussed adding a water/sewer element to the draft to address the impact of new connections on the town system. Mayor DeVere asked Clerk Luanne to reach out to the town engineers to learn what other municipalities are doing on ADU water and sewer impacts.
No ordinances or amendments were adopted at the March 3 meeting related to ADUs; the discussion was recorded as preliminary and tied to the larger comprehensive plan process the council is using to consider land-use changes in the Downtown Business District.
