Public Works to present sidewalk-repair plan; MAC presses to protect mature trees

Michelle Santucci informed the Council that Ventura County Public Works is preparing for upcoming sidewalk repairs and street resurfacing projects and that residents may start to see utility markings throughout the community. Public Works will present the sidewalk-repair program and anticipated impacts on community trees at the next MAC meeting.
Santucci said she is confident Public Works will try to minimize tree removals where feasible. Board member Brian Trushinski emphasized the importance of protecting Oak Park's mature trees during the sidewalk repair process and noted interest in understanding how previous protections (cited from former Supervisor Linda Parks' efforts) will be carried forward into the current project.
