Airport Director Steven Gleason reported the airport issued its first formal written notice for a gate security violation and reviewed the airport's progressive enforcement policy. Gleason said the policy includes retraining after an initial violation, a formal written notice for repeated violations, and possible suspension of gate access for continued noncompliance.
Board members discussed the importance of enforcing security requirements while addressing violations as individual personnel matters rather than penalizing employers. Staff also reported they are working with Grand County IT personnel to improve the airport's webpage within the county's centralized website platform so notices, project updates, and other airport information can be posted more effectively.
