Legislature accepts a bundle of health and human-services grants totaling more than $1.8M

Major items included a $1,180,218 appropriation from the New York State Office for the Aging for the Unmet Need Program (budgeted across multiple county accounts including capitalized kitchen equipment and autos), and a $378,721 award from the NYS Department of Health AIDS Institute for Expanded Partner Services designed to re-engage persons living with HIV in care and support partner notification and treatment.
Other grant actions included acceptance of $202,263 for the Immunization Action Plan, $116,050 for the Adolescent Tobacco Use Prevention Act, and a $118,779 Crimes Against Revenue Program grant to the District Attorneys Office to support investigation and prosecution of revenue crimes. The Legislature also approved supplemental appropriations to the Department of Social Services for Child Advocacy Center and Multi-Disciplinary Team operations totaling $68,099 and $256,197 respectively; each resolution included explicit revenue and expense account lines and was adopted without recorded opposition.
