Chief Patrick Soren presented a proposed renewal of an interlocal agreement to provide canine narcotics detection services to Poth ISD, Falls City ISD, Stockdale ISD and La Vernia ISD, saying the proposed term runs from Aug. 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027. He told the board the participating districts "will coordinate with Floresville ISD to schedule a minimum of 6 up to 10 visits or inspections annually at a cost of 300 per inspection." The proposal remains unchanged except for the updated term.
Soren said revenue from outside visits helps cover K‑9 related expenses such as veterinary bills and vehicle repairs; he estimated that with four schools and 10 visits the income would be about $12,000 and emphasized the service is provided based on Floresville ISD availability. Administration recommended approval and the board adopted the interlocal agreement by a 5–0 vote.
