Sam Weisgram, Office of Project Development, presented the May 20 bids for structures, deck repair and pavement projects; commissioners approved the majority of those awards (bids #1–5, 7, 8, 10 and 11) on a roll call vote. A separate motion approved bid #9 (Faulk County PCC pavement repair). The May 27 bid to install dynamic message boards across Aberdeen and Mitchell regions was awarded to BX Civil & Construction, Inc. for $5,586,000. The Commission record notes Commissioner Ron Rosenboom recused himself from the dynamic message board discussion and vote because of a disclosed land-use agreement; he later clarified that the agreement involved Bituminous Paving, Inc. and not BX Civil & Construction.
Motions were recorded as carried by roll call; staff will proceed to finalize contracts with the successful bidders and monitor execution against STIP and project schedules.
