Taos County adopts updated meeting procedures and confirms board appointments for 2026

Taos County commissioners approved a package of procedural resolutions and a slate of board appointments on Jan. 6.
County staff introduced Resolution 2026-1 (Open Meetings Act procedures) and Resolution 2026-2 (policies and procedures for commission meeting conduct); staff said legal reviewed the language and recommended approval. "It's been reviewed by legal... So recommend approval of the Open Meetings Act," County Manager Jaramillo said. Commissioners moved and adopted the resolutions on roll call.
The commission also confirmed appointments to the Taos County Board of Adjustment and the Taos County Planning Commission. Planning Director Rachel Romero presented nominees, including Mark Yerovitz, Todd Thompson and Ted Terry for the Board of Adjustment and Judy Torres, Luis Gallegos, Billy Romero, Tracy Lauren Aguilar and Crystal Medina for the Planning Commission; commissioners approved the slate.
