Kings County Public Health told the Board of Supervisors on Aug. 4 that it recommends switching to TriZetto Provider Solutions for medical‑billing clearinghouse services, a change county staff said will reduce monthly costs from about $3,000 to $200 and save roughly $34,000 a year.
Deputy Director Nicholas Montoya said staff conducted a comprehensive vendor evaluation and found TriZetto’s claim acceptance and integration capabilities strong, noting a "98.91 attempt claims acceptance rate" and other performance matrices. Montoya acknowledged that TriZetto publicly reported a data breach in 2025 but said county counsel and IT have reviewed the vendor’s standard agreements and security safeguards and found the HIPAA business‑associate agreement legally sufficient for HIPAA purposes. The department emphasized a transition plan that would run both vendors in parallel until the switch is complete.
The board moved and recorded an affirmative vote to approve the agreement; no additional conditions were recorded in the public presentation.
