The presentation also described operational changes: adjusted bus sequencing so high-school and elementary shuttle runs separate, a resurfaced high-school lot with modified flow, and a planned 8:00'8:30 morning routine for staff and supports.
Board members asked about bus runs, student arrival times and impacts on tardiness. Administrators said routing changes and earlier dismissal would clear the lot sooner and reduce safety risks posed by cars and students crossing active lanes. A board member also noted pending state legislation that would generally bar high schools from starting before 8:30 a.m., which the district said would make them "ahead of the game" if approved.
After discussion, a motion to adopt the start-time change passed on a roll call; the board approved the proposal and indicated the schedule could be revisited if operational problems arise.
