Hot Springs library reports rising circulation, summer reading success; board sees one resignation and one appointment

Mary, the Hot Springs Public Library director, briefed the council on library activity, reporting approximately 4,382 patrons, about 15,000 checkouts and more than 22,000 titles checked out year to date. She said the summer reading program included about 288 children who logged roughly "3,905 hours of reading time," and the library ran its first adult summer reading challenge with 78 participants. Mary thanked many local businesses for donations that supported programming.
Separately, the council accepted Cheryl Huddleston's resignation from the library board and appointed Hal Glanville to a three‑year term (2026–2029). One council member abstained on the resignation vote. The council noted plans for a re‑sealing of exterior logs and other library budget items in next year’s planning.
