Mayor Hamberg said he and Police Chief Christmann met with Emboss architect Jim Kaiser and reviewed the costs in the proposed contract. "Motion to authorize the Mayor to sign the contract with Emboss for $28,100," the meeting record shows; the motion (Anderson/Okura) passed on a 6-0 vote.
Council discussion earlier in the meeting noted that rolling cabinets for the evidence room have already been ordered and raised questions about floor load capacity; officials said architectural drawings for the City building and garage are being reviewed and appear adequate for the planned equipment. The contract covers the architect’s work on design, bid documents and oversight during procurement and construction.
The council did not identify an implementation timeline in public remarks. Further procedural steps include preparing bid specifications and, if bids are solicited, a later council action to award any construction contract.
