Students, volunteers honored for Mark DeLay courtyard garden; Clare Madden recognized for All-State choir

At the March 18 meeting the board heard a Student Spotlight featuring Mark DeLay courtyard garden volunteers and student participants; EJH choir recognition for Clare Madden was also announced by the choir director.
The board’s Student Spotlight highlighted volunteers and students who helped clean and plant the Mark DeLay courtyard over the past two years. Mrs. Kompare introduced Mrs. Shuman (DeLay/Lace PTA vice president of academics), Darien Garden Club VP Char Vuillaume, and participating students Claire Wereski, Joey Shuman and Ellianne Johnson along with their parents.
The minutes record the garden work as part of ongoing school volunteer efforts; the board acknowledged the students and volunteers. Separately, Dr. Buck and EJH Choir Director Ryan Clarin introduced recognition of Clare Madden for selection to the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) All-State Choir.
