Dr. Langman introduced the Late Start committee at the March 18 board meeting and the committee presented an update on the district’s late-start schedule.
Committee membership named in the minutes included DEA co-presidents Amy Staubus and Joey Bonanotte, kindergarten teacher Erin Kasanders, 4th-grade teacher Jessica Blessman, EJH ELA teacher Kathryn Strugielski, Dr. Erin Dwyer and Dr. Jacob Buck. The minutes state that the committee "gave a presentation in regards to the Late Start schedule, how this change of schedule has been giving the staff an opportunity to work together to achieve goals in order to benefit the students overall." The board accepted the presentation; no formal vote or policy change was recorded in the minutes.
Board members did not record a formal decision to implement further changes to the schedule at this meeting; the presentation was informational and part of regular staff development discussion.
