At the Jan. 27 board meeting the Minidoka County Joint School District trustees adopted two state manuals and approved multiple policy actions.
By motion and second the board adopted the State Transportation Manual and the State Special Education Manual. The motions were made by Trustee Claridge and seconded by Vice Chair Andersen, and both motions carried.
The board also reviewed and recorded its annual signature on the Code of Conduct for trustees and reviewed an annual policy packet. Items listed as new or amended policies in the meeting packet included Policy 176.00 (Public Participation in Board Meetings — first reading), Policy 268.00P (Self Directed Learners Procedure — first reading), Policy 274.00 (Transfer of Student Credits from Non-Accredited Institutions — first reading), Policy 510.00 (Personnel Hiring Process and Criteria — first reading), Policy 540.00 (Employee Benefits Eligibility — first reading) and Policy 542.90 (Vacation Full Time Personnel — first reading). The board voted to approve the set of policies as presented where applicable.
The adoption of the state manuals means district practice will follow the state transportation guidance and the state special education manual as reflected in the approved motion. The minutes note the board’s action without extended debate.
Speakers: Trustee Claridge (mover), Vice Chair Mary Andersen (second), Superintendent and administrators present for policy review.
