Superintendent Mr. Larsen updated the Minidoka County Joint School District Board on facilities and funding at the Jan. 27 meeting, reporting significant state and insurance receipts and construction progress.
Larsen said the district has received $11 million from House Bill 521 and "should receive an additional $6 million by the end of February," according to the minutes. On operations, he reported hail damage to HVAC systems across the district; the insurance claim has produced most of the money but will not cover replacement of every unit. Facilities work is underway: East and West Minico HVAC replacements were described in the packet and the ag building project was reported at roughly two‑thirds complete with major budget items expected to be finished the week of the meeting.
Larsen invited trustees to schedule a tour of the ag building. He also said a parent transportation meeting was scheduled for Jan. 28 at the District Service Center to discuss routes and logistics in light of the new funding and transportation planning.
The board took no separate vote on the facilities report but included the update as part of the superintendent’s regular report to trustees.
