The Minidoka County Joint School District Board of Trustees approved both the 2025–26 student and staff calendars and the 2026–27 staff and student calendars at the Jan. 27 meeting after a calendar committee presentation and one correction.
Calendar committee members presented two-year draft calendars and noted limited scope for large changes. The board asked that the 2026–27 staff calendar be corrected for the Friday before Presidents Day; the motion to approve the two-year calendars with that correction was made by Trustee Kent, seconded by Trustee Claridge, and carried by vote.
The minutes record that the board also approved an updated list of board meeting dates for 2025–26 and 2026–27 and that administrators will proceed with corrected calendars being published. The calendars in the packet include standard items such as holidays, teacher in-service days, parent–teacher conferences and early-release dates for each month.
Speakers who participated in the calendar work session included Tamara Carter, calendar committee representative, and district administrators; the board did not record any public objections during the meeting.
Speakers: Tamara Carter (calendar committee), Trustees Kent and Claridge (motion and second), Board (vote).
