District facilities staff updated trustees on a package of athletic and campus projects: synthetic turf for the Wildcat field and other athletic work will be funded from fund balance (not bond proceeds), while several projects tied directly to the 2024 bond remain scheduled for spring construction. The board heard that the track at Mary Hoag is delayed after a geotechnical report found deep clay and that addressing the problem could require excavation 6–8 feet deep or other more expensive remediation.
Facilities staff said where drainage and existing track infrastructure already exist (Central) projects are on track, while Cuellar and Bigarza are slightly behind. The district is moving forward with bids for new scoreboards and structural work for baseball and softball fields. "They found a lot of clay in there," a facilities engineer said when explaining the holdup at Mary Hoag. Trustees asked for estimated timelines and cost options and the facilities team said they would present solution options to the superintendent and project leads in the coming weeks.
