Resident urges council to address alleged harassment, break‑ins next door

During public forum, Tali Rocos of 1223 Madison Avenue described ongoing safety and nuisance problems she said originate from a neighboring house she called a "drug house." She told the council her son is autistic and that she and her family feel unsafe due to repeated incidents she said include break-ins, vandalism and property tampering.
"Since we moved here, we have been through absolute chaos and tormented and harassed," Rocos said. She described multiple reports to victim advocates and police and said neighbors have captured suspected incidents on home cameras but that, in her view, enforcement or remedies have been insufficient. Rocos said she has filed federal litigation related to unmet needs she alleges were ignored by the county and asked the council for compassion and action to address the immediate safety concerns.
Mayor Mary Murray thanked Rocos for coming forward and the council did not take an immediate formal action during the meeting beyond acknowledging the complaint; staff and the mayor said they would note the concerns and follow up on options for code enforcement or other remedies where appropriate.
