Mayor nominates Chuck Milliken to Planning & Zoning; council advances appointment

Mayor Steager presented the appointment of Chuck Milliken to serve the remainder of an unexpired four-year term on the Planning & Zoning Commission, expiring Dec. 31, 2026. The motion to move RES-26-033 to full Council was made by Laurie Amick, seconded by Patrick Shea, and carried unanimously (Yes 7).
Steager noted the vacancy followed the retirement of Joe Wildenthaler and said Milliken's four years on City Council and downtown residence recommended him for the commission. Council members spoke in support: Alec McLaughlin said Milliken "did a good job on Council for four years" and other members noted his community involvement and municipal knowledge.
