Southgate council sworn in for 2025 as students take ceremonial seats

Mayor James Hamberg opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. and highlighted the evening's Student Appreciation Night, announcing that "students from St. Therese and Southgate Schools will sit in the place of Mayor, Council, and staff for the night."
Students from Southgate and St. Therese were named and assigned ceremonial roles: Priscilla Alford as the student mayor and other students filling council and staff positions for the event. The meeting record shows the council also presented certificates to the participating students; Southgate Optimist Club President Jay Paul joined Mayor Hamberg in thanking them.
