Council sets Sept. 8 hearing for Miller Farms rezoning as industrial and speculative projects move forward

Development Director Haire told Council that Browning has broken ground on the Velocity project, a 200,200-square-foot industrial building, and that Molto Properties has started a 210,000-square-foot project. He said Opus closed on the Schacht property at Bixby Road and U.S. 33 and expected earthmoving to begin immediately.
Haire also reported that the Estates at Miller Farms submitted a rezoning application for 111 acres west of the existing Miller Farms. "I believe it was actually—I don't recall the number. 246 or 276 lots are coming to mind, but it's all single-family homes," Haire said. Council confirmed a Planning & Zoning public hearing for Sept. 8 at 5:45 p.m.
Council members requested paper and online materials for review. Haire said some projects are speculative buildings with no identified tenants yet and that the local industrial leasing market remains strong.
