Council approves IGA for shared municipal court software

The Town Council approved an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) to allow partner municipalities to continue using and renegotiate the license for shared municipal court management software.
The town manager explained that Breckenridge, Frisco, Dillon, Silverthorne and Keystone currently use the same court management software and hosting system; the county will not continue under the current arrangement and the IGA will permit Silverthorne to act as agent to negotiate a continued license. "This IGA will not create any additional financial burden other than what is already expected," the manager said, adding the likely extension would be two years before partners re‑evaluate needs.
Council members described the arrangement as consistent with prior shared services and said it makes sense for small towns to coordinate on software and hosting. The resolution passed by voice vote; staff said Silverthorne will lead negotiations with the software vendor and staff will report back on final terms.
