The board approved the Hartland Deerfield Fire Authority budget for fiscal 2026–27 after a brief presentation and questions from trustees. Chief Carroll, who identified himself during the presentation, said the action before the board is a formal adoption of a budget that had been discussed in earlier workshops. "...this is just a formal adoption of that budget moving forward," Carroll said as he addressed trustees.
Trustees noted the authority had worked with the township in previous workshops and that questions had been vetted in earlier meetings. Trustee Petrucci moved to approve the fire-authority budget as presented; the board approved the motion by voice vote.
