Trustees approve new water rates starting April 1, 2026

The Hartland Township board approved a resolution to set new water rates that take effect April 1, 2026, following a staff presentation and trustee questions. Chief Carroll summarized the rate-study process and the elements that drove the recommendation, including system improvements and revenue needs. "So commodity rate meaning the dollar or the charge per thousand gallons of water usage...this sets forth the new rates starting 04/01/2026," Carroll said during the presentation.
A trustee asked how many non-automated meters remain; staff answered only a couple remain and explained those meters require staff to perform manual reads. After a brief exchange clarifying meter counts and outreach, Trustee Petrucci moved to adopt the resolution and the board approved the rate schedule by roll-call vote.
