Hartland Township’s board of trustees unanimously adopted the General Appropriations Act for the 2026–27 fiscal year, completing the township’s formal budget process. Supervisor Fountain opened the public hearing and, after no public comment, the board moved to adopt the resolution by roll call.
During a staff presentation, the finance team highlighted the revenue mix and a projected 1% annual decline in state-shared revenue. Chief Carroll noted that property-tax revenue is shown at about $778,000 and that developer fees of roughly $264,000 are budgeted and then expended through planning and zoning. "This is just the condensed version of all of that," Carroll said during the presentation when describing the pie charts and how revenue flows.
The adopted budget includes a $350,000 transfer from the general fund to the capital improvements fund and retains current millage levels; trustees discussed the tradeoffs given rollback pressures on millage rates. The board’s motion to adopt the General Appropriations Act passed in a roll-call vote.
