Salt Creek School District No. 48 held a public hearing on Dec. 19, 2024 at John E. Albright Middle School to review a proposed 2024 property tax levy of $12,533,136. The administration recommended the Board authorize filing the levy with the DuPage County Clerk following the public hearing.
"It is recommended that the Salt Creek School District Board of Education authorize the filing of the 2024 Salt Creek District 48 Tax Levy in the amount of $12,533,136 with the DuPage County Clerk that represents a 7.03% increase over the 2023 actual tax capped extension," wrote Julie Jilek, Director of Operations and Business Services, in the levy packet. The memorandum states the draft levy was prepared with partners at Raymond James and PMA and applies a consumer price index figure of 3.4% and an estimate of $30,000,000 in new property.
The packet includes next steps for the Board: adopt a resolution authorizing the levy, sign a Certificate of Compliance with Truth‑In‑Taxation, and complete the ISBE Certificate of Tax Levy for submission. The Certificate of Compliance included in the materials indicates the district’s proposed levy exceeded the 105% threshold that triggers the Truth‑In‑Taxation hearing and that the hearing was held on Dec. 19, 2024.
