State and local trainers announce World Preparedness Summit in Elko and other upcoming classes

Division of Public Health representative Amos Holler and county officials highlighted the 13th annual World Preparedness Summit (May 14–15 in Elko), a May 13 rural preparedness training, the Emergency Management Basic Academy dates, and a March 8 trauma symposium.
Amos Holler, representing the Division of Public Behavioral Health/public health preparedness, urged LEPC members to save the dates for the 13th annual World Preparedness Summit on May 14–15 in Elko and said a one‑day Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium training on May 13 will precede the summit. "So we've got the 13th annual World Preparedness Summit coming up here May 14th and 15th in the city of Elko," Holler said, and he said sign‑up information would be distributed to local partners.
Committee members also reviewed statewide courses on the NTQS site and an Emergency Management Basic Academy (Carson City: Apr. 28–May 2; Jun. 2–6; Jun. 23–27) as well as a trauma symposium on March 8 with continuing education credits. Officials urged agencies, schools, EMS, and fire departments to register and noted some training has limited capacity.
