Commissioners approve vacation of alley at end of Mowery Street
Summary
The board voted 3–0 to vacate the end of Mowery Street and an adjacent alley after a petition from the property owners; a shared driveway easement will preserve access and the county said the railroad right-of-way is unaffected.

Phil Triplett appeared before the Clinton County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 4 representing David Menifee and Cheryl Kellett to request the vacation of the end of Mowery Street and an adjacent alley. "I'm Phil Triplett appearing on behalf of David Menifee and Cheryl Kellett for an alley vacation in Forest," he told the board, and said "all the parties that have land abutting this have have consented to it."
Triplett said the applicants prepared a shared driveway easement so each property will retain access and clarified the action would not change the railroad right-of-way: "We're not trying to mess with the railroad at all here." After brief questions from commissioners, a motion to approve the vacation was moved, seconded and carried 3–0. The board instructed staff to prepare signatures and finalize the ordinance language provided by staff.
