Buckskin Hills Enduro course funded with restored restroom line after adjustments

The Buckskin Hills Enduro training course in Uintah County was approved for core course construction after the council removed a vault toilet and awning line to preserve funds for other projects. Mike Cook presented the course as a three-tier facility on approximately 2 acres and explained infrastructure needs.
Scott Wheeler moved to eliminate the vault toilet and awning from the initial award to reduce costs; the motion passed and funding for core construction was preserved at $307,564. Later in the meeting, with leftover funds available, Eric Nelson moved and the council voted to restore $74,500 to fund the restroom and awning."We want the primary course to proceed while being fiscally responsible about supporting infrastructure," a council member said during deliberations.
The final package funds the course construction and the restroom/awning line as restored; any site-specific permitting and NEPA determinations for amenities on federal vs. county land remain the applicant’s responsibility.
