Rachel Toker, OHV Recreation Grant Administrator, told the council there was approximately $2,450,000 available for this cycle and announced a planned increase to an annual budget of $6,000,000 effective July 1, split as $3,000,000 per cycle. That prospect shaped several funding decisions as members wrestled with trade-offs between infrastructure, education, and equipment requests.
The council used targeted reductions to stretch available dollars: for example, Scott Wheeler moved to finalize recommendations after earlier motions to remove certain line items, and the group later restored specific funds when leftover dollars were identified. The motion to finalize the FY2026 grant cycle passed via roll call.
