County OKs $50,000 LITA participation to support Rolling Stills distillery expansion

Taos County adopted Ordinance 2025-2 to enter a project participation agreement with Rolling Stills Distillery to facilitate building rehabilitation and expansion. Jessica, the county presenter, said the agreement enables a $50,000 LITA investment from the State of New Mexico Economic Development Division and that Rolling Stills "is committed to adding 10 jobs over the next 5 years." Paige O'Brien, the state regional representative, told commissioners the building is roughly 55,100 square feet and said the state's analysis anticipates the public investment will be recouped within five years.
Commissioners had no substantive objections and approved the ordinance by unanimous roll call. The ordinance and partnership were presented as a targeted economic development measure to support a locally owned business and create modest local employment over the coming years.
