Montezuma County commissioners voted to accept the county's 2025 audited financial statements after staff reported a clean audit and no material findings.
Robert Dobry, the presenter, told the board the county worked with Majors and Haley, certified public accountants, and that "we have a clean audit from them. No no findings, no issues." He reported the county spent $15,543,297.94 from a $16,530,276 general fund budget (about a 94% spend rate) and closed 2025 with a general fund balance of $21,851,514.
Dobry said the audit and assessor revenue data will inform next year's budget planning, including attention to staffing items he said will help tighten budgeting next year. The board moved and approved acceptance of the audited financials; county staff said the audit will be posted online for public review.
