The Canal Winchester Landmarks Commission approved application CA26027 to replace the plaza-facing education wing windows and doors at the Canal Winchester Methodist Church (Faith Educare). The existing aluminum glazing was described as deteriorated and the applicant proposed a commercial storefront system in a clear-anodized finish with insulated glass.
Staff noted the proposed 1-over-1 storefront pattern would simplify the elevation and increase thermal performance compared with the 1-over-2-over-1 pattern currently in place. Commissioners asked whether any new openings would be operable; the applicant said the proposed system is primarily fixed but could be adapted in the future if openings are desired. The commission found the proposal consistent with the function and appearance of the education wing and approved the application as presented.
