Council approves JT Engineering inspection contracts for Aldi and Ardent Glen Phase 6
Summary
Council authorized construction‑inspection contracts with JT Engineering for the private Aldi development and Ardent/Arden Glen Phase 6, with inspection costs to be borne by the developers; council noted those fees offset the need for a second city hire until recruitment succeeds.

Council approved two contracts for construction inspection services with JT Engineering: one for an Aldi private development project and a second for Ardent/Arden Glen Phase 6 (not to exceed $124,364.25). Staff explained all inspection fees are the developer’s responsibility and that awarding these contracts covers inspection needs while the city has had difficulty filling a second planned inspector position.
Construction manager staff said the recently hired inspector is assigned to Mark Drive Phase 2 and that the second position, when filled, would reduce reliance on consultants for certain subdivision inspection tasks. Council approved both contracts by voice vote with no recorded opposition on the transcript.
