District reports ACT and NCAS gains as part of continuous improvement review

A presenter summarized NCAS classifications and noted that most schools maintained classifications while some buildings improved. On ACT measures, the presenter reported ELA proficiency rose from 34% to 38%, math from 31% to 39% and science from 34% to 43% between the 2023–24 and 2024–25 school years. "We are finding that, yeah, we are happy with our growth that we have had," Kelly said while outlining changes in preparation and practice testing.
Officials described several programs intended to boost growth: expanded tier‑1 instruction, additional 25‑minute support classes during CATS, after‑school tutoring (3:30–4:30 p.m.), Saturday school overseen by a certified teacher, and expanded EL language acquisition courses. Administrators said results will be shared with the review team during a February visit as part of the district's fifth year of its continuous improvement cycle.
