Laura Kelby told the board the school library advisory council was established in July per Senate Bill 13 and that each board member had selected a community parent to serve. "This council will just review any library purchases, procurement to our library collection, and they'll review it and come up with processes and procedures to make recommendations for those purchases," Kelby said. She explained the council will meet at least twice per year and can meet more often as needed.
A motion to appoint the slate of members listed in the board packet was made, seconded and approved by a unanimous 7–0 vote. Kelby said the librarians will continue regular purchases but that the council will review and recommend titles and procurement steps going forward.
