The Salt Creek School District 48 Board approved a pair of finance actions Dec. 19, authorizing an interfund transfer and moving forward with the Truth-in-Taxation process. Board members approved an amended motion to transfer $7,000,000 from the Operations and Maintenance Fund to the Capital Projects Fund; the motion passed unanimously on a roll-call vote.
Administration also presented the district's preliminary 2024 Tax Levy and the board approved a resolution to publish estimated levy amounts and notice of a Truth-in-Taxation public hearing. The packet states the administration's recommended levy filing would total $12,533,136 — a 7.03% increase over the prior year's capped extension — allocating $9,707,941 for education, $2,252,949 for operations and maintenance, and $397,000 for transportation.
