Eric Mackey (speaker 14) asked the commission to forward a comprehensive-plan amendment (2026-229-CP) and to recommend approval of companion zoning 2026-208-ZC to preserve optionality for future industrial redevelopment on a property with two buildings the applicant purchased in 2019.
Mackey said one building (southern) is under a long-term lease and the other (northern) is about 95,000 square feet; the applicant described potential tilt-wall industrial redevelopment only if a tenant did not renew. Commissioners asked about deed-restriction and POA relationships; Mackey said he will work with the property owners association if necessary. The commission voted 7–0 to forward the comp-plan amendment and recommended the zoning case to City Council for approval on Aug. 27.
