The West Linn City Council approved the budget committee’s recommendation to award $25,500 in community grants for fiscal year 2027 on June 9, 2026. Staff said the committee received 16 applications requesting a total of $44,280; because a prior recipient returned $500, the recommended total available rose to $25,500. The application and scoring process was revised this year to include four categories—community benefit, project quality/feasibility, financial need/use of funds, and community reach—totaling 100 points.
Caitlin, who managed the grants process for staff, summarized the recommendations and explained the committee’s intent to provide feedback to applicants who did not receive full funding. “This year, we did receive 16 applications for total requests of $44,280,” she said. The council approved the committee’s recommendations by roll call. Recipients include arts and community groups; Jim Wichman, speaking for the West Linn Community Chorus, said the grant will help the chorus commission a 25th‑anniversary musical work.
