Board approves new squad computers and docking stations; four officers to begin training next month

Trustee Zakrocky told the board that new squad computers have arrived and that the vehicles must be taken to the McHenry County Sheriff’s office to have CAD software installed. He also reported that four new officers are expected to begin training next month.
Trustee Fritz moved to approve the purchase of police computers and docking stations not to exceed $8,500; Trustee Walter seconded and trustees voted in favor. The motion carried by voice vote.
Zakrocky relayed a conversation with a representative of The Knoll about closing procedures; the representative values staff safety and relies on cameras and lighting at the facility. President Counley thanked Zakrocky for the follow-up and noted the increased patrols would not be constant.
The board also received a separate financial update and approvals for routine expenditures during the meeting.
