Council hears Uday plans: schedule, volunteer needs and food pricing

Council members received an update on Uday festival plans for late May/early June during the May 19 meeting. Committee member (S6) outlined the day’s schedule and volunteer needs, asking for help to maintain longstanding traditions and noting the 1st Ward will install solar lights at the site.
"Breakfast will be, we'll have the, firemen, wake up call as usual, at 7, breakfast at 8, trade at 10, games and things start at 11," S6 said, and added that volunteers are still needed to staff the dinner and games. S6 gave food pricing context: "The salmon dinner was 15 last year. We're gonna keep it the same. Pork was 10, and we'll go to 12. And then we'll have a child's hot dog plate for 5 as usual."
Council members thanked volunteers and noted the city will include the festival in its June newsletter and seek more volunteers and a person to shadow the dinner coordinator for continuity.
